Web Design for Sarasota County Small Businesses
I build sites that look sharp, load fast, and show up when people in Sarasota County search for what you do.

I Build Sites That Actually Work
Most small business websites in Sarasota County have the same problem. They exist. But they don't do much.
Visitors land on the page, click around for a few seconds, and leave without calling. That's usually a structure problem. The site doesn't guide people anywhere. No clear action, no obvious reason to reach out.
I build websites for service-based businesses across the area. Venice, North Port, Osprey, Nokomis, Englewood, and the Gulf Gate area. Every site is built with a clear layout, fast load times, and local search built in from the start. Not added on later.
You can see the full range of what I do on the services page. When web design is the right next step, I build it. When it isn't, I say so.
Is This a Good Fit?
Who This Service Is Best For
This is for service-based small businesses in the area who need a site that actually pulls its weight. If your business runs on calls, appointments, or local customers, this approach fits well.
- → Local service businesses that rely on calls and appointments. Contractors, consultants, home services, medical offices, personal services.
- → Business owners who want to work with one person directly. Not an account manager. Not a support ticket system. Just a real conversation.
- → People who tried a website builder and aren't happy with the result. You built it yourself, it doesn't look right, and you're not sure how to fix it.
- → Businesses ready to stop relying only on word of mouth. Referrals are great. A site that brings in people who have never heard of you is better.
If you're in Venice, North Port, Osprey, Nokomis, Englewood, Siesta Key, or anywhere in Sarasota County and your site isn't bringing in calls, let's talk. This is built for you.
Setting Expectations
What This Is and What It Is Not
This is:
- Built on WordPress — clean code, not page builders
- Built from scratch around your business
- One-on-one work directly with Sean
- Local SEO included in every build
- You own it completely after launch
- Clear timeline, no hidden fees
This is not:
- Wix, Squarespace, or Webflow builds
- Templates swapped with your name and logo
- Ecommerce or online store builds
- An agency with rotating account managers
- Ongoing retainers after the site goes live
- Complex systems that require ongoing support
Sound Familiar?
Why Most Local Sites Underperform
Here's what I hear most from local business owners. If any of these sound familiar, the problem is fixable.
- ✕ "My site is embarrassing." I built it myself five years ago and never touched it.
- ✕ "Visitors come but don't call." I can see traffic in Google Analytics but the phone doesn't ring.
- ✕ "I can't update anything myself." I paid someone to build it and now I'm stuck waiting on them for every change.
- ✕ "I don't show up on Google." People search for what I do locally and I'm nowhere on the first page.
- ✕ "It breaks on phones." The site looks fine on a desktop but falls apart on mobile.
A new site built for local search addresses all of these. Not with a quick fix, but with a structure that's set up to perform from day one. If you're not sure whether you need a full rebuild, the signs that a redesign is overdue are worth a look.
What You Get
How I Build Your Site
Every site I build follows the same standard. Clear structure, fast load times, and local search built in from the first page. No add-ons. No upsells after the fact.
The Design and Build
I design and build your site around how visitors actually behave. Every page has a clear purpose and a clear path to contacting you. Nothing is there just to fill space.
- → Mobile-first layout that works on every device without breaking.
- → Clean, fast code without the plugin bloat that slows most WordPress sites down.
- → Contact forms, Analytics, and Search Console connected before the site goes live.
After launch, I walk you through how to make basic updates yourself. No ongoing retainer required.
Local Search Built In
Local SEO is part of every build. Not an optional add-on. Your site is set up from page one to show up when local customers search for what you do.
- → Keyword research for your service area and service type.
- → Meta titles and descriptions written for every page on the site.
- → Google Business Profile review to make sure your listing supports the site.

Simple. No Surprises.
How the Process Works
I follow a clear process so you always know what's happening and what comes next. Most sites are live in three to five weeks.
Clarity Call
I want to hear about your business, your current site, and what you're trying to improve. This is where I listen before I suggest anything. No pitch, no pressure. Schedule a free call here and we'll figure out if this is a good fit.
Site Plan
I put together a page structure, content outline, and timeline. You review and approve everything before any design work starts. No surprises later.
Build
I build the site. You review it and request adjustments. The focus is on structure, speed, and how visitors respond to it, not just how it looks.
Launch and Handoff
The site goes live. I walk you through how to make basic updates yourself. You own the site completely. Clear instructions, not a long handoff call you'll forget the next day.
Ready to Talk About Your Site?
The first call is free. I find out what your business needs before I suggest anything. Most Sarasota County business owners walk away from that call with a clear direction, whether they hire me or not.

About Gagne Marketing
I'm Sean Gagne. I've spent more than 25 years working closely with local businesses and watching how much they contribute to the communities they serve. I also know how hard it is to make clear technology decisions while running a business day to day.
My work started in web design and local SEO. I helped business owners improve their websites and connect better with local customers. That work showed me something important: most problems weren't caused by a lack of tools. They were caused by unclear priorities and bad guidance.
Today I help small businesses make practical decisions about their websites and, when it makes sense, about AI. When a website is the right next step, I build it. When it's not, I say so.
You work directly with me from the first call to launch. No account managers, no handoffs, no surprises.
Quick Answers
Common Questions About Web Design in Sarasota County
What areas of Sarasota County do you serve?
I work with businesses throughout Sarasota County, including Venice, North Port, Osprey, Nokomis, Englewood, Siesta Key, Longboat Key, the Gulf Gate area, and the UTC corridor. I also work with businesses across Manatee County, including Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and Parrish.
Do you include SEO with web design?
Yes. Local SEO is built into every site I create. That includes keyword research for your service area, meta titles and descriptions for every page, and a Google Business Profile review. I don't charge separately for it.
How long does a website take?
Most sites take three to five weeks from the first call to going live. The timeline depends on how many pages you need and how quickly I can work through content decisions with you.
Do you do ecommerce?
No. I build sites for service-based businesses that rely on calls, appointments, and local customers. If you need an online store with a shopping cart and product catalog, I'm not the right fit.
How is this different from a website builder like Wix or Squarespace?
Website builders are tools. You still have to make every decision yourself, figure out the structure yourself, and hope it works. I make those decisions with you. More importantly, I'm thinking about how Google reads your site and how visitors respond to it, which a template builder doesn't do for you.
What if I already have a site that just needs updating?
That might be a website redesign rather than a new build. I do redesigns throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties when the existing site has good bones but isn't performing. Not sure which you need? Read what a website redesign actually involves or bring it up on the first call and I'll give you a straight answer.
What platform do you build on?
WordPress, with clean custom code rather than page builders. That means faster load times, better Google scores, and a site you can update yourself without breaking anything. I build the structure. You own the keys.
What happens after my site launches?
I walk you through the basics at launch: how to update content, swap images, and check your Google Search Console numbers. You own the site completely after that. No ongoing retainer required. If something comes up later, reach out and we'll sort it out.
Do you help with Google Business Profile setup?
Yes. I review your Google Business Profile as part of every web design project. A well-set-up profile drives map pack visibility, which is often where local customers find you first. If you want to understand how the local map pack works, that page explains it clearly.
Why hire a local Sarasota County web designer instead of a national agency?
A national agency doesn't know that your customers in Venice behave differently from customers in North Port. I do. I've been in this market for more than 25 years. You also get direct access to the person doing the work, not an account manager relaying messages. That makes the whole process faster and the result more accurate.
Do you work outside Sarasota County?
Yes. I primarily serve Sarasota County and Manatee County, but I've worked with service businesses in neighboring areas when it's a good fit. The first call is the place to figure that out.
Service Area
Areas Served in Sarasota County
I work with small businesses throughout Sarasota County and neighboring areas. If your customers are local, this is built for your market.
I also work with businesses in the Gulf Coast corridor between Sarasota and Bradenton. If you're not sure whether your area is a fit, the first call will answer that quickly.
